Filippo Lippi (c. 1406 - 1469)

Description and information:
The itinerary for the discovery of the works of Filippo Lippi (c. 1406 - 1469) conserved in Tuscany has two main pivots represented by the cities of Florence and Prato. The artist was born in Florence and spent most of his life there, becoming a painter greatly appreciated by religious institutions and important families such as the Medici (see record Filippo Lippi and the Medici). In effect the Florentine itinerary starts from Palazzo Medici where there is the workshop replica of the altarpiece that Filippo made for the Chapel of the Magi (now in the Berlin museums) and the famous Madonna and Child of uncertain provenance which arrived in the museum a century ago.
For the works located outside Florence, in Tuscany, see the itineraries: Filippo Lippi in Prato and Filippo Lippi in Tuscany
